Students today are not the same students we were. They are asking harder questions, expecting more from their schools, and actively engaging with what they are learning and why. I think that is a good thing. I want a district that meets them where they are, and that ground is changing rapidly. As a trustee, I will champion an educational environment that is responsive to students as whole people: what they need to succeed academically, what they need to thrive personally, and what will actually prepare them for the world they are walking into. The San Dieguito Union High School District has world-class teachers, and it is incumbent on the board of trustees to ensure they have the resources they need to keep pace with this fast-moving education environment.
